  • 1.76 lbs Boneless Pork Belly with Skin
  • 8 Noirmoutier Potatoes
  • 1 Bunch Cilantro
  • 5 fl oz Soy Sauce
  • 1 Miso Bouillon Cube
  • 6 tbsp Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 4 tbsp Peanut Oil
  • 3 tbsp Lemon Tree Honey
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds
  • 1 tsp Chinese Five-Spice Blend
  • Salt

  • Cut the pork belly into thick slices and then into large lardon-sized pieces.

  • Preheat the oven to 356°F (Gas mark 6). Brown the meat on all sides in a large pot with peanut oil. Boil the potatoes in salted water for 15 minutes. Drain them.

  • Transfer the meat to an ovenproof dish. Whisk the soy sauce with sesame oil, honey, and Chinese five-spice. Pour over the meat and mix well to coat.

  • Bake for 1 hour, stirring occasionally to prevent the meat from sticking. Add the potatoes after 30 minutes and mix them with the meat and sauce.

  • Dissolve the miso bouillon cube in a saucepan with 1.7 cups hot water. Divide the miso broth among 4 bowls.
