Banana Bread is a popular type of quick bread made with ripe bananas as the primary ingredient. It's known for its moist texture, sweet flavor, and versatility. Often, the bread is made by mixing mashed bananas with ingredients like flour, sugar, eggs, butter, and baking soda. Some variations include added nuts, chocolate chips, or spices like cinnamon to enhance the flavor. Banana bread is easy to prepare and is commonly enjoyed as a breakfast item, snack, or dessert. It gained widespread popularity in the United States during the 1930s and has since become a beloved comfort food around the world.
Whisk the 2 eggs with the light brown sugar (if you don’t have light brown sugar, you can use regular brown sugar).
Melt the butter. Add it along with the 2 mashed ripe bananas, flour, baking powder, and vanilla extract. Mix well, adding each ingredient one at a time.
Fold in the chocolate chips, then pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
Cut the remaining banana in half and place the two halves, cut side up, gently pressing them into the batter. Add the pecan nuts.
Lightly sprinkle with brown sugar for caramelization and bake for 45 minutes.
